Quinn Healthcare reduce child/student prices on Essential Plus Excess 01.07.10

On 1 July 2010 Quinn will reduce the child and student prices on Essential Plus Excess for all new and renewing customers. All child and student prices will be reduced to €183. This is a saving of €77 on the first and second child/student and €22 on the third and fourth child/student.

Aviva Health release Nurses' and Teachers' Choice plan 01.07.2010

On the 1 July 2010 Aviva will release a new plan, Nurses' and Teachers' Choice. This plan will provide full cover for a private room in a public hospital and cover for a semi-private room in a private hospital with a €125 in-patient excess per claim. A maternity grant of €3,450 is provided towards hospital accommodation and a €400 benefit towards pre/post natal care. Vhi offer free Multi-trip travel insurance with One Plan 08.07.2010

On 8 July Vhi will be offering free worldwide multi-trip travel insurance to all new and renewing customers of One Plan between 8 July and 7 August 2010. The travel insurance will be for the duration of 1 year. Existing MultiTrip policyholders availing of this offer must cancel their existing policy and will not receive any refund unless they are within the 14 day cooling off period.

Quinn Healthcare release HealthProtect plan 08.07.2010

Quinn Healthcare are releasing a new plan, HealthProtect, on 8 July 2010. This plan will provide cover for the public service charge of €75 per night when a member is admitted to a public hospital as a public patient. It will cost €65 per adult and €30 per child. Third and subsequent children are free.

HIA publishes Consultation Paper on Minimum Benefit Regulations in the Irish Private Health Insurance Market 13.07.10

On 27 May, 2010 the Government announced its strategy for a stable community rated health insurance market. As part of this strategy, the Government announced that it has decided to prepare a new set of Minimum Benefit Regulations and the Health Insurance Authority has been asked by the Minister for Health and Children to carry out a consultation process in this regard.
