Vhi Healthcare are releasing a new plan today, One Plan Starter Day2Day (€570). This plan gives cover for a semi-private room in a public hospital. There are minimal maternity benefits of €381 in a public hospital only.
There is an out-patient excess of €25 and customers may claim €25 x 3 back for GP and physiotherapy visits and €60 x 3 for consultant visits.
Vhi increased their premiums today by 10-45%. The new prices will apply to all new and renewing customers.
Quinn Healthcare increased the premiums on their company plans today by 3-15%. These prices will apply to all new and renewing customers.
Vhi have changed the name of First Plan Starter to One Plan Starter today, 1 February, with no benefit changes.
Vhi have reduced the child prices of Teachers Plan by 50% from 1 February 2011. Child prices are €111.11 for the first three children and free thereafter.

Vhi Healthcare have increased the cost of their One Plan 1.10 (€920) by 15% today, 2 February 2011. The reduction in orthopaedic benefits in private hospitals from 100% to 80% which previously applied, now also includes certain ophthalmic procedures. Please ask Vhi for details.
These benefit and price changes apply to all new and renewing customers from 02.02.11.
Vhi will release a new plan called PMI 06 11 (€711.11) on 22 February 2011. This plan provides full cover for a private room in a public hospital and a semi-private room in a private hospital with a €75 excess. There is a maternity accommodation grant of €3,200 along with significant out-patient benefits and a €1 out-patient excess.
