Laya Healthcare will release Essential Secure (€495 per adult, €200 per child/student) on 1 April 2013. This plan provides cover for a semi-private room in a public hospital and day case cover for a public hospital. There is a maternity accommodation grant of €400. Outpatient consultant visits are refunded at €51 per referral, once the individual outpatient excess of €150 has been exceeded.
This plan is available to all new and renewing customers from 1 April 2013.
Laya will change the premiums and benefits of plans from 1 April 2013.
Premiums will increase by 7-15% on most plans. Essential Plus with Excess and Essential Plus No Excess will decrease by 17% on adult premiums.
- The Mater Private Cork will be added to all Laya healthcare plans except StudentCare
- Dean Clinics out-patient Mental Health Consultations will be added to all plans except StudentCare
The following rules changes will be applied:
VHI will increase the premium of PMI 26 12 on 14th April 2013.
PMI 26 12 premiums will increase from €933.34 to €1,050 per adult and from €333.34 to €375 per student and child.
Four Private Hospitals will no longer be covered - Bon Secours Cork, Tralee, Galway and The Galway Clinic.
The benefit provided for mammograms will be increased from 50% cover to full cover in an approved mammogram centre.

Aviva will release Health Plan 09 (€2,413.30 per adult, €924.40 for child 1-3, €96 for child 4 and €904.40 for student 1-3 and €280 for student 4) on 22 April 2013.
This product provides cover for a private room in public hospitals, a private room in private hospitals, a semi private room in the Beacon and Mater Private hospitals and full cover in the Blackrock Clinic.
