HIA publishes consultation paper on risk equalisation in the Irish private health insurance market 21.06.10

On 27 May the government announced its strategy for a stable community rated health insurance market. As part of this strategy, the government announced that it has decided to implement a new, robust risk equalisation scheme to support the core policy of community rating in the private health insurance market.

The Health Insurance Authority has been asked by the Minister for Health and Children to carry out a consultation process regarding a new risk equalisation scheme including transitional arrangements.
