Irish Life Health Closing Plans - 1 September 2025
Irish Life Health has notified the Health Insurance Authority (HIA) of its decision to retire 22 health insurance plans from 1 September 2025. Under regulatory legislation, insurers must provide the HIA with at least 30 days’ written notice of any changes to policies.
What This Means for Policyholders
If you are currently insured under one of the affected plans, you will be automatically moved to an equivalent plan at your renewal date. The replacement plan must offer the same benefits, with only limited variation permitted under legislation.
You are not required to accept the replacement plan. You may choose any plan available on the market. The HIA is reviewing the replacement plans to ensure compliance and will continue to monitor them throughout the year.
