Vhi Healthcare will launch 4 new plans as of 01.04.2021

Vhi Healthcare has also announced the following benefit changes as of 01.04.2021:

  • AdvancedCare Extra Day to Day - An executive health screening benefit at the Blackrock Clinic or the Mater Private Hospital Dublin has been included on the plan, providing cover for up to €520.
  • HealthPlus Premium - The Emergency Care Package has been included on the plan, providing a private emergency department benefit & a private ambulance benefit.
  • HealthPlus Extra - Private accomodation in private 1, 2 & 3 hospitals has been amended to full cover, and subject to a hospital excess of €50 per night.
  • One Plan 500 -The plan now provides full cover for all accomodation types in public hospitals.The Vhi HealthCheck@Home benefit has been included on the plan providing full cover in each 24 month period, subject to an excess of €75.
  • One Plan Access Plus - Accomodation cover in private 1, 2 & 3 hospitals has been amended as follows

Day care, side room & semi-private accommodation – full cover
Private accommodation – semi-private rate
Hospital excess per claim - €150

Accomodation cover in private 4 hospitals has been amended as follows

Day care & side room – 50%
Semi-private accommodation – 35%
Private accommodation – 25%

Day care & in-patient cardiac FPPs Level 1 have been amended as follows

Blackrock Clinic & Mater Private Hospital, Dublin – 50%
Hermitage Medical Clinic, Beacon Hospital & Galway Clinic – 75%
Hospital excess per claim - €150

Day care & in-patient non-cardiac FPPs Level 1 have been amended as follows

Blackrock Clinic & Mater Private Hospital, Dublin – 50%
Hermitage Medical Clinic, Beacon Hospital & Galway Clinic – 75%
Hospital excess per claim - €150

Specified Orthopaedic and Opthalmic procedures have been amended as follows

Day care, side room & semi-private accommodation in Private 1, 2 & 3 hospitals – 60%
Private accommodation in Private 1, 2 & 3 hospitals – 60% semi-private rate
Day care & side room in Private 4 hospitals – 50%
Semi-private accommodation in Private 4 hospitals – 35%
Private accommodation in Private 4 hospitals – 25%

Specified Orthopaedic and Opthalmic procedures when carried out as fixed priced procedures have been amended as follows

Cover in Private 3 hospitals – 60%
Cover in Private 4 hospitals – 50%


The medical and surgical appliances benefit has been amended to 50% with a maximum limit of €1,000
The consultant benefit has been increased to €60
New benefis for X-rays / scans and blood tests have been included on the plan to replace the existing Radiology and Pathology benefits
The general practitioner benefit has been removed from the plan
The physiotherapy benefit has been removed from the plan
The dental practitioner benefit has been removed from the plan
The alternative therapies benefit has been removed from the plan
The complementary therapies benefit has been removed from the plan
The optical benefit has been removed from the plan
The accident and emergency benefit has been removed from the plan
The Day to Day annual excess has been reduced to €100
The Day to Day annual maximum has been reduced to €850

 

Employee Assisstance Programme;

The EAP benefit wording is being updated to clarify that members have access to telephone or face to face counselling for a specific issue. The new wording is “Employee Assistance Programme: Telephone or face-to-face counselling – 6 visits per issue, per calendar year”.
The benefit has always operated in this way and the Table of Benefits is being updated to clarify this for members. The plans in the below document are receiving the wording change.
