Competitive tendering is the standard procedure in the procurement process of the Authority in line with the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies.
The Health Insurance Authority works with the Office of Government Procurement to tender for services and goods.

Prompt Payments Report
The Health Insurance Authority is obliged to report quarterly to the Department of Health on prompt payments. (Government Decision S29296 of 2 and 8 March 2011).

Purchase Orders over €20,000
The Health Insurance Authority is subject to the commitment made by Government under the Public Service Reform Plan to report quarterly on all purchase orders over €20,000.
